The painter and printmaker O. Dix (1891-1969) was noted for his ruthless and harshly realistic depictions of German society during the Weimar Republic and the brutality of war. He is widely considered one of the most important artists of the Neue Sachlichkeit. In the document, a note in German to Dr. Zluham, Dix thanks for financial support and refers to a lithograph entitled "Christus 56", available at the price of "100 DM".
