Lot description
Drawing, pen and black ink and grey wash, framing lines in black ink, 22 x 19 cm, laid paper, unsigned (hinged by corners on blue paper, some sm. brown stains, old fold at lower left corner).
Moses on the left, raising his right hand where a staff touches a huge boulder. Water pours out and forms a stream providing the escaped Jews with fresh water. Two men and a dog at the foreground create a hightened sense of depth. Doubtful attribution on verso to Titus Van Rijn (1641-1668), son of Rembrandt.
