Lot description
Etching and engraving, 17,3 x 13 cm, laid paper with unidentified watermark, signed in plate at bottom right "G v. vliet fe." (trimmed to the borderline, bottom edge trimmed short by 4 mm, toned, some brown spots from old glue on verso, sm. pin holes at corners).
Four figures gathered around a table, the nobleman at right placing a card on the table, the figure in left foreground sitting on an upturned barrel or bucket. One of Van Vliet's popular and sought-after genre scenes. Second and final state.
