Lot description
1 f. (21 x 27,5 cm), on vellum, in Latin, with pendant seal (seal in fragment).
The college of aldermen ("scabini consilium") paid an annual annuity to the canons of the Collegiate Church of St. Gudula as a compensation for the acquisition of a piece of land in the Molenstraat ("vicum dictum tmoelenstreetken"). The second wall was erected between 1357 and 1379, and had a length of nearly 8 km. The decision to build it was taken in the aftermath of the War of the Brabantian Succession.
