Lot description
In various sizes and conditions.
1. Large vellum bindings (4), limp or on boards, used to cover archival documents; one with vellum flap and tie. - 2. Folio blind-stamped pigskin over wood with 2 ff. with botanical printed ill. as pastedowns. - 3. Folio blind-stamped calf (2, of which one with bevelled edges, over wood). - 4. Folio calf binding with gilt Brabant mark on both covers. - 5. 4to-size bindings (6, incl. two oblong bindings). - 6. 4to blind-stamped calf over wood with gilt supralibros IHS (front) and Virgin and Child (back). - 7. 4to 19th-c. binding with bookpl. of Th. de Jonghe. - 8. 8vo (2: 1 vellum, 1 with blind-decorated leather). - 9. Wooden board (half, with traces of binding structure). - 10. Blind-stamped pigskin over wood with 2 metal clasps and traces of manuscript strips. - 11. Blind-stamped calf over wood with 1 clasp and catch, with traces of binding structure. - 12. 8vo red velvet binding (rubbed) with 8 metal knobs and 2 clasps and catches, and calf panels with central gilt "Dido" mark used as pastedowns. - 13. Small format bindings (10), incl. one with gold-tooled red leather, and one made of an archival document on vellum dated 1763.
