Lot description

Drawing, pen and brown ink, with brown sepia wash, traces of graphite, 20 x 27,7 cm, unsigned (sm. brown stain at upper right corner).

Under passe-partout.

Beautiful landscape with a lamb being attacked by a wolf. On verso a 19th-c. label with attribution to J.-B. Hubert (1801-1865), a French landscape painter whose paintings are now in the museums of Douai, Béziers and Perpignan.
Joined: 1. Monogrammist A.V. - Lady feeding a young goat. France, 1844. Watercolour with wash, 22 x 31 cm, thick drawing paper, signed and dated in black pen with monogram at lower right corner "A.V. 1844". Under passe-partout.-- 2. [J.V.R., Gint] - A Dutch farmhouse with animals. The Netherlands, 1836. Drawing, graphite with brown and white wash, 20,7 x 25,4 cm, thick drawing paper, signed and dated in graphite at lower left corner. Under passe-partout. (3 pcs)
