Contemp. half brown morocco, cloth on covers, gilt orn. spines with 5 raised bands, marbled endpapers. Good copy.
Complete with Hogarth's portrait and 108 plates, mostly steel engravings, from the original pictures by Hogarth (1697-1764), English painter, printmaker, pictorial satirist, social critic, and editorial cartoonist. His work ranges from realistic portraiture to comic strip-like series of pictures called "modern moral subjects" (Wikipedia).
