Mod. three-quarter leather, marbled paper covers, gilt lettered flat spines. Good untrimmed copy.
First edition of this significant work on astronomy. Illustrated with 28 fold. plates. The mathematician and astronomer Delambre (1749-1822) was the director of the Paris Observatory. This work replaces the "Traité d'astronomie" (1764) written by Jérôme de La Lande, Delambre's teacher.
