Lot description

19th c

Printed scores: Haekl, Johann - VI. Tantum ergo. Opus I. and Authore W.J. Emmerig, seminarii & Chori musici Directoris ad St. Emmeram Ratisbonae. II. Lytanieae Solemnes. Opus V. (together 9 pcs). - Diabelli, Anton - Zweyte Landmesse in G für sopran, alt, tenor, bass, 2 violinen, violoncell, contrabass, und Orgel obligat [...]. Wien, A. Diabelli u. Comp, s.d. PN D. et C. N. 2. Manuscript scores, being transcriptions for voice(s) or instrument(s), needs further study. We can identify scores transcribed a.o. by Jean-Baptiste Coppens, Aîné, organist of the Saint John the Baptist at the Béguinage in Brussels and by H. (?) Mailly, chapel master in several Brussels churches: "Ouverture de Timoléon arrangé en choeur"; "Juravit Dominus à Grand Orchestre", "Duetto Del Maestro Simoen Mayer", "Laudate Pueri, Choeur à Grand Orchestre", "Messe composée par Ferrari", "Laudate Pueri, Motetto à Grand Orchestre Del Signor Paër", etc. Several transcribed scores signed and dated at the end. It is more than possible that the scores served as musical accompaniment to the masses during the liturgical year.
