± 29 x 42 x 6 cm, red long-grain morocco decorated with gilt rolls, lettered name of the owner on the front side, central brass lock, flap lined with green morocco, lettered name of the manufacturer ("Susse/ Papetier de l'impératrice/ Passage des Panoramas,/ A Paris"), six green cloth compartments inside with a later inside flap in green percaline (sl. discolouration, some stains and minor scratches, edges sl. used).

Nice briefcase sold by the famous house Susse, founded in 1806, official supplier to Emperor Napoleon III and Empress Eugénie.
