Leather briefcase with accordion gussets marked with the name of "Mons. Sorbier inspecteur de l'Enregistrem[n]t & des Domaines/ en Résidence au Vigan 3e division du Gard".

± 27 x 43 x 5 cm, green long-grain morocco decorated with blind fillets, gold lettered name of the owner on the front side, central chiselled silver plated brass lock, flap decorated inside with a gilt roll, inside compartment and pocket lined with turquoise cloth (key missing, some dark stains and minor scratches).

Nice briefcase. Sorbier is quoted as "directeur de l'enregistrement des domaines" of Haute-Garonne in 1847.
