Third edition (first 1587) of this rare and important treatise on medical conditions and gynaecological problems affecting women by the Italian physician and professor at Padua G. Mercurio (1530-1606). The work is entirely devoted to the illnesses women suffered most from. The focal points of the work are menstruation, sterility, conception, pregnancy, birth and miscarriage. Each section illustrates a specific condition, its causes, diagnosis and treatment. Mark on title.
