First edition of this work describing the funeral rites of the Romans, Greeks, Egyptians, Scythians, Indians (some details concerning the American Indians of Peru), Hebrews, Turks and Christians. Illustrated with an engraved title figuring a portico and 32 nice etchings in-text (some showing instruments) executed after those of Girolamo Porro. Copy decorated with ornamental initials, head- and tailpieces.
