Contemp. half green shagreen, covers of green buckram, flat spine with blind & gilt fillets and gilt roll-stamps to head and tail (leather and some sm. parts of covers rubbed).

Illustrated with 2 engr. titles and 60 plates showing erotical paintings and objects from Pompeii and Herculanum contained in the Secret Cabinet in the National Archaeological Museum of Naples. It was first published in 1832 under the title "Peintures, bronzes et statues érotiques, formant la collection du cabinet secret du Musée royal de Naples". Some pages are printed on laid paper.
