Contemp. half calf with corners (sl. rubbed), gilt orn. spine on 5 raised bands (sm. def. at head), red leather title label.

Second corr. and enlarged edition (first 1682) of the verses accompanying O. Vaenius' "Emblemata Horatiana", with the Latin text of Horace, but without the emblems. Ill. with an engr. front. and engr. vign. on title by G. Lairesse. Dutch translation facing the Latin text. Signed by Y. Vincent from the "Kunstgenootschap Nil volentibus arduum". Rare publication of the Amsterdam literary society which tried to reform Dutch literature at the end of the Golden Age.
