Contemp. red morocco, gilt fillets and dentelle on covers with a central tool, spine with raised bands orn. with gilt rolls, gilt top edge (restored, lower cover and edges of front cover rubbed).

First edition. Illustrated with 92 plates and 15 plates of portraits of pioneers of the modern motoring movement (incl. a portrait of Edward VII in frontispiece, "the first Royal motorist"). Some illustrations in colour or in photogravure. Edition limited to 650 copies.
