2 vol., 8vo: [4]-336, [4]-433 pp.; 4 pl. (occ. foxing, marg. wormhole and marg. pale dampstaining in vol. II).
Contemp. threequarter calf, pink paper covers, gilt ruled flat spines (joints splitting and rubbed, edges of covers faded, scratch to lower cover of vol. I, edges and corners rubbed).
Second French edition, but first by François-Joseph-Michel Noël, of the travel relation of the British explorer Anburey in North America (origin. ed.: 1789). Contains also information on the American Revolutionary War. Anburey was in charge of Irish recruits of the 47th Regiment. He sailed in 1776 from Cork to Québec. He later served under General John Burgoyne at the Battle of Saratoga during the American Revolutionary War. After the British defeat, he was taken prisoner and only sent back in Britain in 1781. Illustrated with 1 fold. map. of the east coast of North America and 3 plates.
