First and only French ed. translated by Abbadie of the work of the Irish surgeon and chemist D. Macbride (1726-1778), mainly remembered for his work on the treatment of scurvy. Ill. with 4 engr. pl. and 6 fold. tables. Experimental essays on medical and philosophical subjects: on the fermentation of alimentary mixtures, on the nature (...] of fixed air, on the respective powers [...] of [...] antiseptics, on scurvy and on the dissolvent power of quicklime. With a 5-page stocklist of the publ. at the end.
