Finely drawn representation of three shepherds resting by the fireplace, with the flames illuminating their faces. The scene is set in a stable and a flock of sheep, a bull and donkey can be seen on the left. The white chalk on brown support is used to achieve a rustic nocturnal impression. Possibly Neapolitan.
