Lot description
1. Coat of arms of William III of England. 11 x 8,9 cm. Around the shield is a belt with the motto "Hony soit qui mal y pense" ("Evil to him who evil thinks"), the symbol of the Order of the Garter.-- 2. Coat of arms of "Iean Baptist Ioseph / Herthals / Licentié / es droits advocat &c". 5,8 x 4,7 cm. A landowner in Neerijse (Brabant), he was appointed Professor of Pandects (digest of juristic writings on Roman law) by the Magistrate of Leuven in 1719. Ref.
