Important Plantin Press ed. of the Neo-Latin poetry of "the Polish Horace" Sarbievius (1595-1640). On pp. 287-336 a series of laudatory poems by Belgian Jesuits. Nice engr. title by C. Galle after Rubens depicting in the left foreground Apollo, God of Poetry, who places his lyre upon an antique altar; in the cradle on the right foreground lies Pindar, greatest of all Greek lyric poets and behind the cradle pointing to Pope Urban VIII's coat of arms stands Erato, muse of lyric poetry.
