Second "Romana" edition (1st 1680) of the work of the Italian antiquary Fabretti (1618-1700) concerning the topography of ancient Latium. Fabretti spent much time in Rome and Latium investigating aquaducts and their sources. The water supply was of vital interest in ancient Rome and the book is a full account of the aquaducts of Rome. His interpretation of certain passages in Livy and other classical authors involved Fabretti, member of the Academy of the Arcadians, in a dispute with Gronovius. The work enriched with 40 full-page engr. and folding plates and tables.
