Drawing, charcoal and white pencil, 27 x 42,7 cm, grey-brwon vélin paper, signed at lower right corner (edges reinforced on verso, sm. tear).
Mounted by corners under passe-partout.
Anatomical study of a young man. Eugène Smits (1826-1912) was a Brussels painter known for his portraits and mythological scenes, inpired by the French Academic tradition. He had his workshop in Schaerbeek and was one of the founding members of the Société Libre des Beaux-Arts in 1868.
