Lot description
Drawing, pen and brown ink with gouache, 22,3 x 30 cm, laid paper with Dutch watermark (Churchill 403-7).
Stuck under passe-partout and framed under glass (unframed).
View of the castle of the Dukes of Brabant, known as the Mont-César (Keizersberg), as seen from the north of Leuven. On the lower left the Mechelen gate can be seen, which was destroyed by the end of the 18th century. A painting by Clevenbergh from almost the same perspective is now part of the collection of the M Museum in Leuven.
