First edition of the Dutch transl. of this important popular work on sorcery and witchcraft, potions and the powers of the imagination on one's well being, by the Wittenberg medical professor Daniel Sennert (1572-1637), a sceptical believer in occultism. The translator D. Jonctys (1600-1654) was a Dordrecht physician and poet, writing against popular beliefs in occult forces. Engr. title (loosening) with ms. ownership entry “Van Lierde”.
