Cont. calf, gilt spine on 6 raised bands, red sp. edges (sm. def. at head, sl. rubbed, a few scratches). Good copy.
First edition of this important topographical work on the marquisate of Antwerp by J. Le Roy (1633-1719). Engr. ills: title by A. van Diepenbeeck, 73 plates outside collation (some folding and double-paged): 3 maps, 2 city plans, 13 ills of tombs, etc. and 67 views (of which 24 sm. printed 2 by 2 on 1 leaf) showing, i.a. Antwerp cathedral, St Michael's Abbey, views of Berchem (e.g. "praetorium de Berchem"), Wijneghem, Schilde, Hoboken, Hemiksem, Lier, Westmalle, Kleidaal, Tongerlo, Turnhout, Corsendonk, etc., and c. 150 fig. in text.
