Lot description
Various sizes. In good general condition (traces of use, tears, soiling).
Large study collection of hundreds of letters (autograph or typed), handwritten postcards, forms with personal details and signatures, diploms, envelopes (with or without stamps) by diplomats, journalists, military and government officers, politicians; commercial documents. Remarkable names: A. Daens (1), Goblet d'Alviella, Prince de Ligne (28 letters from his circle, 1798), Queen Louise-Marie (1), E. Reclus (3), Scheler & Bormans (court librarians; 13), Count de Hornes (31 letters, 1700-1742). It also includes a large series of archival documents, mainly on Hainaut (esp. Mons) for the larger part assembled by an early-19th-c. local collector; but also documents from Antwerp, Bruges, Brussels, etc. A few heraldic drawings or prints, some photographs, postcards, old newspapers and cuttings.
