8vo: [16]-CCXLVIII ff. (some sl. foxing and pale marg. damp stains).
Contemp. blind-stamped pigskin, boards decorated with roll-stamps with allegorical figures or portraits, fleurons and fillets, blind-ruled spine with raised bands (ties missing).
Rare edition given by A. Leblanc of Hippocrates' famous aphorisms in a translation by the physician Niccolò Leoniceno (1428-1524), Professor at the University of Ferrara, and the "Praedictiones" translated by Lorenzo Laurenziani (d. 1515), both texts with commentary by Cl. Galienus. Title within a richly ornamented architectural portico with the mark of Chevallon, some criblé initials, and another printer's device on verso of last leaf. Contemporary ms. marginalias from various hands.
