Folio: portrait-[42]-616-[8]-[2]-237-[3] pp.; 16 pl. (soiled, margins repaired, important part of last f. inner margin renewed, some tears in pl. strengthened, foxing, sm. holes in pp. 43-187-387, foxing, ms. entries crossed out on title, etc.).
Mod. leather, blind frames on boards, gilt-ruled spine with raised bands.
First edition of the translation by the empiric doctor W. Salmon (1644-1713) of the anatomical work (1st in Latin 1672) by the Dutch physician Diemerbroeck (1609-1674), known for his efficiency in Nijmegen during the Black Death epidemic. He later became professor of medicine and anatomy at Utrecht University, where he held twice the position of rector. Also with his treatise on smallpox and measles. Illustrated with 16 fold. plates representing detailed dissections.
