Nice copy complete with the 7 books of this treaty ill. with 27 plates, by J. Sauveur (1653-1716), one of the great geometers of the reign of Louis XIV, professor of mathematics in the "Collège royal" and member of the "Académie royale des sciences". Our copy is probably one of those circulating in manuscript form before the publication of the posthumous first edition of 1753 published by Guillaume Le Blond.
