Contemp. sheep, gilt-orn. spine with raised bands, red edges (spine sl. rubbed, few scratches on boards).

First edition of a pioneer work on the early medieval history of (the Counts of) Flanders by the Bruges lawyer O. de Wree. Ill. with an engr. title, an engr. vign. on second title, an engr. double-page map of Flanders and 4 full-page engr. plates on two ff. (within collation).
