Under passe-partout and frame.
An early portrait of Madelon, whom he married in 1889. His wife became his muse in his work on many occasions.

Prov. Louis Wittamer-De Camps, owner of one of Belgium's most emblematic collections of Art Nouveau posters. In 1957, he bought the former Hôtel Solvay, built by Victor Horta on Avenue Louise, to set up his workshops for his haute-couture house (ms. note on frame).
