Contemp. leather, gilt spine with raised bands and morocco label, sp. edges. Very good copy.

Extremely rare 2nd issue (1st 1655) of the only edition of this biography of the major Scottish philosopher-theologian Duns Scotus (1265-1308). J. Colgan (born Seán Mac Colgan, 1592-1658) was an Irish Franciscan historiographer active at the Leuven Irish College. He trained friars for the Irish mission and researched Irish saints for the Acta Sanctorum. Engr. vignette on title.
