Lot description

Folio: 12 pl. (some min. faint spotting).

Mod. mottled red tinted half calf, gilt-orn. spine with raised bands (covers rubbed).

First edition of this fine set of natural history plates which is rarely on the market. Ill. with 6 engraved plates of apples, apricots, cherries, currants, pears and plums, each in two states: hand-coloured and uncoloured. Brookshaw (c. 1751-1823) was a notable English painter and illustrator.
