Albumen prints, 20 x 25 cm, pasted on black cardboard, photographer's blindst. in the image.
Cogels (1888-1914) was an Antwerp born photographer who made a set of 12 half-plate portraits of Congolese participating in the 1894 Antwerp universal exhibition. These two photographs are probably taken at the same moment.
