Lot description
Engr., c. 43 x 55 cm, hand-coloured (central fold very lightly soiled, sm. brown stain in the right outer edge).
Under passe-partout and gilt frame (verso visible).
Based on the wall map by Hessel Gerritsz, this map contains an inset plan of Moscow, an inset view of Arkhangelsk, a large title cartouche and 3 costumed figures. From the 1635 or 1638 "Le Théâtre du Monde" (text on verso, leaf 6K).
