Lot description

Drawing, pen, black ink and watercolour, paper, c. 62 x 96 cm (some tears with very min. loss, some light soiling).

Mounted on cloth.

Based on the original cadastral plans (with the same scale: 1:2500), this sheet shows all the properties of "Madame la Douairière de Jonghe, née De Roovere", most likely Marie de Roovere, widow of Gilles Charles de Jonghe. Craan (1776-1848), surveyor and cartographer, is mostly known for his plan of the Battle of Waterloo.
Joined: 1-2. Popp, P.C. - Plan parcellaire de la commune de Gaesbeek avec les mutations. Bruges, Valckenaere, s.d. Lith., 78 x 114 cm, partly hand-coloured (1: 1 tear without loss, edges drayed, some loss in bl. upper left corner; 2: horizontal tears, some spots). Mounted on cloth. (3 pcs)
