French translation by Honoré Courtin of a work by Gualdo Priorato (1606-1678), historian from Vicenza, on the Treaty of the Pyrenees of 1659. This treaty between Louis XIV of France and Philip IV of Spain ended the Franco-Spanish War of 1648-1659. It is often taken to mark the beginning of French hegemony in Europe. Illustrated with a plan on double page of the "Île de la Conférence" where the peace was discussed.
