Lot description
8vo: 175 pp. (title and prelims missing, as well as final part of 35 pp, i.e. the prose Historia; sl. toning).
Disbound.
Complete Latin poetry of Porsius (1556-1610), professor of poetry at Vienna University and a secretary to Emperor Rudolf II. Most important is the "Itere Byzantinum", describing places and people met on a diplomatic mission to the Sublime Porte in 1579. On account of its many details Porsius’ text is more a historical poem than a hodoeporicon.
Ref. VD16 P-4321 or ZV-12676 (differing only in the wording of the title, missing here).
