8vo: [68]-301 pp. (some toning, sm. def. to title and to blank top margin of final ff.).

18th-c. mottled calf, gilt spine with raised bands and morocco label, marbled edges (sl. rubbed). Very good copy.

Rare first edition by Petrus Scriverius (1576-1660) of the collected Latin verses of the famous love poet J. Second (1511-1536). Engraved medal on title (the poet’s beloved Julia); engraved portrait of Second on *8v. Printed in italics.
