Bound in 1 vol., obl. 4to, 20,5 x 31 cm, contemp. sheep (scratched, sl. stained, corners rounded), later matching leather gilt orn. spine on 5 raised bands dated "1642", green leather label titled "Paisages de Sylestre". Good general condition.

Nice collection including 8 larger (folded) plates i.e. "Loreto", "Alize" (in double), Arcueil aquaduct, "Saincte Baume en Provence" (in double), "Montserra" in Catalonia and Saint-Denis, and a suite of 3 sm. engravings depicting Liancourt; also 1 pl. by L. Meusnier (pupil of Sylvestre), 1668, Paris, Van Merle ("Veüe et perspective de la grande eglise de Seville"). With 37 pl. engraved by Sylvestre, 12 by Nicolas Perelle and 1 by Goiraud, 23 plates published by Mariette (11), Israël Henriet (6), Nicolas Langlois (2) and Daumont (4), most of the others with the excudit of Sylvestre. Contains views of Paris and its neighbourhoods ("Gallerie Dauphine du Palais", the Louvre (several), "Saint-Martin des Champs", Charenton, "Chapelle et maison de Sorbonne", "Cimetière des Saints Innocents", "Palais d'Orléans" (several), Fontainebleau, Meudon, Pont-Neuf, Notre-Dame, Versailles, Pont Saint Michel, La Bastille, etc.), - castles, sometimes with gardens (Courance, Liancourt (several), Fresnes, Rincy, Coulommiers, Richelieu en Poitou, Verneuil, Coffry, Tanlay (several), Blerancourt, etc.), - and of some towns ("Nuict", "Croussy", "Saincte-Reyne", Montbar, Angoulême, "Trevou", Corbeil, Avignon, etc.).
