4 vol., 12mo (n.c., damp stain in vol. II and wormtrack at end of vol. sl. affecting the text, marg. wormhole(s) or wormtrack in vol. III).

Contemp. mottled calf, gilt-orn. spines with raised bands, red spr. edges (some (damp) stains, occ. sl. traces of use).

First edition of this history of Holland from 1609 until the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678. By Baillet (1649-1706), French scholar and critic, best known as biographer of Descartes.
