First edition of an 8-year travel departed from San Francisco in 1893 through the Pacific and Indian Oceans by Festetics de Tolna (1865-1952), Hugarian nobleman, his wife Eila Haggin, and assisted for a short time by Captain Wichmann. They stopped in Hawai, Samoa, Sydney, Pentecost and Espiritu Santo (Vanuatu), Choiseul Island (Solomon Islands), etc. The ship grounded in Minicoy in 1900.
