First French ed. (1st Eng. 1789) of the travel relation of the British explorer Anburey in North America. Anburey was in charge of Irish recruits of the 47th Regiment. He sailed in 1776 from Cork to Québec and later served under General John Burgoyne at the Battle of Saratoga during the American Revolutionary War. After the British defeat, he was taken prisoner and only sent back in Britain in 1781. Illustrated with 1 fold. map of the east coast of North America.
