Contemp. sheep, gilt-orn. spine with raised bands (joints partly split, tail defected, boards rubbed, corners bumped).
Land register of the possessions of the lordship of Winnezeele (Flandres, now in modern France) held by Jacques Christian Antoine Carton (c. 1730-1787), Lord of Winnezeele and Tourelles and made by Pierre-Jacques (or "Pieter Jacobus") Deschodt (1751-1815) "ge-eden ende geadmitteerden lantmeter in het parlement van Vlaender". Incl. 8 fine coloured cadastral plans of "het hof te Winnezele", "Middelhouck", "Oosthoucke", "Westhouck", etc., bordering on Herzeele, Steenvoorde, Watou and the "Proosdij" of St Donatian. With an index at the end. Bill of the surveyor pasted in with a red wax seal. Enriched with 3 mod. notes, of which one on the link between Winnezeele and the Order of Knights of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem (or the Order of Malta), and a photo.
