Lot description
4to: [4]-186-[4]-39-[1] ff. (min. toning, general title soiled, old tear in title repaired, a single wormhole).
Contemp. blind-st. pigskin over wood, bevelled edges, spine with raised bands, metal clasps and catches (sm. def. at head and tail, 1 clasp gone, some tiny worming). Very good copy.
Extensive commentary on the Gospel readings in the liturgical year by the Paris bishop Gulielmus III Arvernus (1180-1249), with an additional treatise on the Lord’s Passion by the Franciscan Daniel Meyer (Agrcola, 1490-1540). Large title woodcut. 98 (Pt. I) and 20 (Pt. III) sm. woodcuts in-text. General title printed in red an black. Text in Gothic type of various sizes. Pt. II with title border by Urs Graf. Pt. III (Agricola) with the colophon date "M.D.XIIII." instead of "M.D.XIII." as described by VD16 and shown in the digitized BSB copy. Numerous contemp. marginal annotations in 1st work.
