Engr., 33,4 x 47,3 cm, hand-coloured (sm. ink stain in bl. marg., light traces of central fold).
Curious sheet from the 1572 "Civitates Orbis Terrarum" (Latin text on verso), illustrating a trading voyage from Elmina (right corner) at the West coast of Africa, over Ormus (left corner) at the entrance of the Persian Gulf, and Kannur (middle view) in India to the important trading center Kozhikode (Calicut). 2nd state (with "Cum privilegio").
