Contemp. vellum, blind-orn. sides with fillets, large central lozange plate and fleur de lys in the corners (some soiling, tears restored on spine).
First Dutch edition transl. from the Latin ed. (ibid., 1638) of this nice book commemorating the visit of Marie de' Medici to Amsterdam, from 31 August to 5 September 1638. Engr. ill.: 1 full-page portrait of the queen with a view on the Amstel after G. Honthorstl, 16 numbered double-page pl. (2 fold.) showing ceremonies, allegories, and splendid views of the city by S. Saverij, Cl. Moyaert and P. Nolpe after S. de Vlieger and M. de Jonge, 1 additional fold. pl. very often missing with portrait of the four Amsterdam burgomasters by J. Suyderhoef after Th. de Keyser.
