Lot description
Engr., 36,3 x 46,5 cm, hand-coloured (some very sm. spots in upper edge).
Hinged at upper edge. Under passe-partout.
Striking bird's-eye view of the defensive, mountainous city of Luxembourg in the upper corner, the Luxumbourg Palace, in the lower corner, and the Igel Column (Trier), as a reminder of the Roman legacy in the region. From the 1640 Latin von Brachel "Urbium praecipuarum mundi theatrum quintum" (text on verso, leaf 22).
