Lot description
In-4°: [3]-281 ff. typed, coats of arms drawn with coloured pencils and watercoulours on tracing paper (a few omissions in the foliation, occ. stains, some ms. corrections and additions).
Contemp. amateur half white cloth, untitled (upper hinge broken, marg. tears on last endpapers).
Original transcription (unpublished?) of one of the "Familienbuch" preserved in Heidegg Castle (Lucerne), residence of this important Swiss patrician family whose members provided many officers for the Pontifical Swiss Guard between 1652 and 1982. Ill. with num. coats of arms partly coloured, preceded with an introduction by the transcriptor, H. Pfyffer (1889-1957), 27th Commander of the Pontifical Swiss Guard, with his aut. signature. Enriched with an enveloppe addressed to him in Rome.
